The conference takes place November 14-18, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel.
The call for participation is now open at the submission site. All submissions must be made via this web site; we cannot track email or phone submissions, nor pass them on to the reviewers for review and grading. Submissions need to include an abstract (up to 500 words), keywords and an estimate of the level of technical knowledge required of the attendee. We welcome submissions at all levels; many of the conference attendees are experts in their fields, while many are new to some areas of XML.

Please zip your slides and send to dkunkel@idealliance.org, or email him with a URL from which he can easily pick up the slides. If you have any questions regarding your slides, please contact Dave Kunkel directly. All slides are due no later than November 18.
You may wish to consider creating the slideshow presentation in XML. There are a number of systems that various XML experts have put together, which are freely available, and may meet your needs as well as commercial non-XML-based systems. A (probably partial) list of such tools is to be found at http://www.mulberrytech.com/walkthewalk.html.
PRESENTATION TIPS:
A number of helpful presentation tips have been provided to assist you with your presentation.
REGISTRATION:
One primary presenter per presentation will receive a complimentary conference pass to attend November 15-17. IDEAlliance will be automatically registering those presenters and you will receive a confirmation email. Additional presenters will receive a 50% discount off the appropriate member/non member conference prices. Please note this does not apply to the academic rate or tutorials. Additional presenters must register directly using the online registration form when it becomes available.
HOTEL INFORMATION:
A special conference rate has been arranged at the conference hotel, with a reservation cut-off date of October 21, 2005. Please note that reservations after this date may not be possible and will be offered on a space availability basis. For more details please see the HOTEL/VENUE information page.
AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT:
Each conference track room will include the following standard equipment: one computer projection unit, one screen and microphones. If using the computer projection unit, please remember that you are responsible for supplying the computer. Macintosh and Windows laptops with resolution 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x768 will automatically be supported. If you wish to use a different operating system or resolution, please let us know so we can make sure the AV company is prepared. Please update your audio visual information in the Submission Site.
PRESENTATION LOGISTICS:
The program is divided up into 6 tracks throughout the three days. Each session on any particular day is then divided up into two 45 minute talks (35 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A). Both presenters in a given session should be present 10 minutes before the start of that session regardless of who speaks first. (This is to allow for an audiovisual check and an easy transition between presenters.) In addition, we ask that the presenter who speaks first in a session remain present throughout the remainder of the second talk in that session.
All presentations will take place at the conference hotel, the Hilton Atlanta Hotel.
PUBLICITY:
We encourage all presenters to send out notices regarding their presentation to any relevant press or mailing lists. We have found it to be beneficial to both the presenter and the event. In addition, please consider the following:
Link your company's web site to the conference web site. Banner Ads are now available for this purpose.
Forward any related press releases/announcements to the event webmaster - Dave Kunkel - dkunkel@idealliance.org. We will load them on the event site.
Please use the string "XMLConf2005" in any folksonomy applications such as blogging.
We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta, GA!
