WELCOME TO XML 2005!
This page (and the rest of the conference web site) should give you all the information you need to make your tutorial at XML 2005 a success.
I will be your event liaison, so please feel free to contact me directly at:

Overview
The conference takes place November 14-18, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel.
The call for participation is now open at the submission site. All submissions must be made via this web site; we cannot track email or phone submissions, nor pass them on to the reviewers for review and grading. Submissions need to include an abstract (up to 500 words), keywords and an estimate of the level of technical knowledge required of the attendee. We welcome submissions at all levels; many of the conference attendees are experts in their fields, while many are new to some areas of XML.
The Details
HANDOUTS:
Tutorial handouts are REQUIRED. All tutorial instructors are asked to provide a FULL tutorial handout for each of their respective tutorials. Please remember NOT to use dark background colors and to allow enough space for binding.
As a format for printing, we prefer PDF, set for letter-size paper, with embedded fonts and graphics. If PDF is not possible, please use one of 1) Power Point, 2) HTML (including all stylesheets), 3) SVG, or 4) StarOffice or OpenOffice Presentation. Please send your handouts in a zip file to Dave Kunkel at dkunkel@idealliance.org, or send him a URL where he can pick up the handouts easily. If you have any questions regarding your handouts, please contact Dave directly.
Note that if your handouts are not received by October 3rd, it will be your responsibility to duplicate, bind, and ship the handouts to the venue. IDEAlliance will not be able to duplicate handouts onsite.
REGISTRATION:
All tutorial instructors will receive a complimentary conference pass to attend the conference November 15-17. IDEAlliance will be automatically registering tutorial instructors. Your official registration confirmation will be sent via email once you have been registered. Please note that this complimentary registration does not apply to tutorials other than your own tutorial. If you would like to attend an additional tutorial, please register for that additional tutorial directly with the online registration form when available.
HOTEL INFORMATION:
A special conference rate has been arranged at the conference hotel, with a reservation cut-off date of October 21, 2005. Please note that reservations after this date may not be possible and will be offered on a space availability basis. For more details please see the HOTEL/VENUE information page.
AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT:
Each conference tutorial room will include the following standard equipment: one computer projection unit, one screen and microphones. If using the computer projection unit, please remember that you are responsible for supplying the computer. Macintosh and Windows laptops with resolution 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x768 will automatically be supported. If you wish to use a different operating system or resolution, please let us know so we can make sure the AV company is prepared. Please update your audio visual information in the Submission Site.
PRESENTATION LOGISTICS:
All tutorials will take place either on Monday, November 14th between the hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm or Friday, November 18th between the hours of 9:00am - 12:30pm. Coffee breaks are scheduled at 10:30am and 3:30pm on Monday and 10:30am on Friday. The tutorial luncheon on Monday is scheduled to run from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Please take the breaks into account when deciding on your tutorial schedule. Please be in the meeting room at least 15 minutes before the tutorial begins to check the audio visual setup. Please contact Marion if you have any questions - melledge@idealliance.org.
All presentations will take place at the conference hotel, the Hilton Atlanta Hotel.
PUBLICITY:
We encourage all presenters to send out notices regarding their presentation to any relevant press or mailing lists. We have found it to be beneficial to both the presenter and the event. In addition, please consider the following:
Link your company's web site to the conference web site. We will have banner images available for this purpose.
Forward any related press releases/announcements to the event webmaster - Dave Kunkel - dkunkel@idealliance.org. We will load them on the event site.
Please use the string "XMLConf2005" in any folksonomy applications such as blogging.
We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta, GA!
