Proceedings Paper Submission
Completed XML papers must be submitted via the presenter database by September 16, 2005 for inclusion in the our online proceedings site. A link to the proceedings paper submission/validation form can be found on the index page once you've logged in to the presenter database.
All submissions MUST be in XML in either Unicode or ASCII and validate according to the Conference Schema and Guidelines. The XML paper may not have a UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark). The filename must end in .xml. For cross-platform compatibility, file names for the XML document and supporting images must be less than 31 characters long. They may contain only ASCII letters, digits, the underscore (_), and hyphen (-) characters. One period (.) is permitted as the separation character between the file type and the rest of the file name. In particular, spaces are not permitted in file names.
Images for inclusion in the proceedings paper must be in one of the formats BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, SVG, or SVGZ. The rendered size of the images must be smaller than 7" (17.5cm) wide by 9" (23cm) high, or 600 pixels wide by 800 pixels high. The imagedata element allows three ways to size your images; please see the DocBook documentation at imagedata for details. Images that are larger than allowed may be sent back to the author for resizing, automatically scaled down in size, or clipped.
Papers should be at least 2000 words long. Longer papers are welcome; generally at least 2500 words are needed to adequately cover the subject matter.
Once the paper has been submitted to the website, you will have the chance to preview an HTML rendering of your paper. If you wish to check the rendering before submitting, you can use the same stylesheets, available in the authoring tools page.
Each XML 2005 presentation has been assigned an individual presentation code. Presenters who are submitting papers for multiple presentations, please do not submit more than one paper under the same presentation code.
See presentation code list (by author last name).
